Description
The APC Symmetra PX system is our three phase uninterrupted power source (UPS) for the server room. It is located in the two racks closest to the entrance of the server room. The systems contains three power modules, one static switch, one main module, many battery units, and a panel on the rack door. The system is identified by the serial number of the main module unit.
Purpose
This system protects our servers against power surges and provides power in the event of a power outage. The up-time available in case of a power outage will vary depending on how much is plugged in, and how many battery units are active. It is intended to provide power just long enough to gracefully shut down the system.
Support
For most service, you can call in and a tech will walk you through debugging the system through the panel on the rack door. So you should call from your cell, from in the Data Center.
